Wagner is a PMC operated under Prigozhin from 2014 , it came to defend Donbass people who were under the seize of Maidan Nazi government. Though it was a small contingent and didn’t help them much.

It was a bulwark against the vicious Islamic jihadists (ISIS) and terrorists in Africa , Central African Republic has a statue for them .

Wagner become powerful post 2022 crisis , where prisoners and inmates were called to train and fight against Ukrainian Nazi army.

It seems members of Russian armed forces and members of state duma (also KPRF) didn’t like a pseudo independent armed force which can threaten Russian government.

Also , after Bakhmut war Russian government asked Wagner to sign with MoD and become a nationalized entity , this threaten the independent nature of wagner and its operation .

Prigozhin had legitimate issues with MoD , as it was stiff in providing ammunition , but i think they were casually let to die because Wagner has hardened criminals and other elements . This led to the “march for justice” to compromise with MoD or something . Definitely it was not against Putin or his civil administration .

Prigozhin also criticized Russian oligarchs and others who didn’t do much enough for the country and also the deficiency in SMO.
