Nimbus - Oat Milk Powder Review

Tldr: Pretty bloody dissapointed.

A week or so ago, people might have caught me asking about tetra-pak packaging on aussie-enviro. In that post i mentioned my order of Nimbus Oat Powder as a long-term solution to avoid the trash cost of tetra-paks. Well i got it during the week, and finally had a chance to bust it out today and give it a try.

The results were poor, theres a strong aftertaste that overpowers the coffee, it only mildly complements the coffee's characteristics while the shop bought oat milks gave a little sweetness, much like the lactose in milk does so I normally don't need sugar. With the Nimbus... sugar is required, but it still doesn't solve the overpowering aftertaste of old sock.

Comes out pretty creamy with the steam wand though, maybe a little better than some of the tetra-pak ones i've tried in the last few weeks.

The bottle has a cheap feel, and is a rip off of that VOSS brand. Its apparently made from recycled materials. Its a shame, they had the chance to go for something iconic and useful with the bottle shape, and came back with a bland, done before shape thats slightly too big to hold in one hand. I am definitely going to drop this fucker when my hands are wet. Move over c/wewantplates, and welcome c/wewanthandles!!

I'll drink the rest, but i'll be trying another brand next, might see if that Fairfood- Fairer Haferdrink is available in Aus.
