Harlet dime jig says 3-3.5 mm for the hole will an 1/8" bit work?

Yeah just clean up the hole a bit and function test the firing pin to make sure it doesn't stick

I used a 1/8 too

1/8" is 3.175mm. So, yeah, probably.
