Risa is the name of a planet that was discovered in Star Trek. It's a paradise planet where anything goes, so it became a popular vacation/shore leave spot for Starfleet across multiple Trek series.
So, of the Star Trek communities on Lemmy (previously reddit), Risa was used as the name of the loosely moderated community for memes and stuff.
Yeah, anytime I go to the majority of communities on Lemmy, I'm always surprised by how active /c/risa is. As for yugioh, I've never seen it. Is it good? (I'm assuming yes given how you're a big fan)
