I have benevolently given myself another week off (with manager's blessing).

Time to live the life for a few more days.

Have been helping my kid apply for jobs, which has been a really interesting experience. Next step after applying online is for him to do a chat interview with an ai thingy

Now he’s doing a recorded video answering questions. This is trippy

oh nononono. Anything that asks for recorded video should be viewed with DEEP suspicion. Check all the paperwork, chances are you'll find buried somewhere some AI slop bullshit that says they are granted rights to use his voice / face
- The government and some of the banks do the AI recorded interviews. Wouldn't look very good if they use the data

It's good you're doing this. I remember when looking for jobs explaining to my parents that the local Big W doesn't do it's own hiring and you have to apply online for the head office to look at. Sometimes parents don't realise how much the job market has changed
- It’s been an eye-opening experience - much different to the process when I last applied for a job
Helped my daughter recently with this. She didn't get shortlisted but good experience.
I feel bad cause the job search process for youngsters is soooo much different than back in my day

There are not enough good old fashioned heists these days. I blame the younger generations and their addiction to screens, everything has to be online scams, they're not willing to get their hands dirty and go for the hands-on high-value jewlery theft.

Yum report. Gyoza lookalikes called mandu done in the airfryer in accordance with instructions on the packet. Delicate crispy skins and creamy delicious insides. Perfect for dipping in a sauce. Strongly recommend. These are going on high rotation methinks.

Korean food is to Japanese good, as Vietnamese is to Chinese.
Slightly improved on somethings but unique in their own way.
There's an Afgan dumpling called maantu which are pretty nice. Served with a tomato/yoghurt sauce.

There was general excitement at work today because the new Soul Origin had opened nearby. You know that place always in the middle of shopping centres that sells whatever salads?

Well, a Carl's Jr closed down near work and Soul Origin of all places moved in. This is a free standing building with a drivethrough. I probably won't go over the local cafes too much but at least I can get a coffee after 2 somewhere nearby now

Soul is good. It's a nice light lunch but still filling.
I always found soul origin to be a pretty decent lunch option

Nothing quite like waking up to the sweet sultry tones of Methaniel mething out in the alley. The warm weather means mating season for the native MethMen has arrived, nature is truly mysterious and wondrous.

I just told a guy smoking in the supermarket to take it outside and he did. He was out the front when I left but I was holding a bottle of cordial by the neck which has a certain look to it.

I’ve decided to sell my iPhone and grab a Samsung. It’s been interesting but it’s really locked down. I have giant thumbs and I can’t even change the keyboard size beyond a tiny fraction.

There has been good rain overnight (the garden rejoices) but I managed to miss it all on my morning dog walk. I am taking this as a good omen for the day ahead.

Listening to the rain outside is nice.

Driving through it was a bit dreary. I also feel a bit cheated, it was clear when I left Ballarat and I was looking forward to a nice sunrise. Then I hit fog, then rain and its been grey and drizzly ever since with no sign of sun at all.

Ok if any Tame fans want some sort of redemption after the new album, the Tiny Desk all acoustic concert is cool!

A relative made us these balls with dessicated coconut on them. There was some coconut in the container so my mum told me to throw it on the grass. Instead of just pouring it on the grass, I let it snow, and the dog jumped off the deck right as it was falling. Dog looked like it had snowed on him. I would've taken a picture but he was not going inside with coconut on him.
