Trans adults waiting 224 years for gender clinic appointments

The wait varies widely around the UK, according to QueerAF. Times can range from three years in Nottingham, to 41 years in Belfast and a staggering 224 years in Glasgow.
What does this even mean? No-one is waiting 224 years, unless a trans person from 1800 just got their first appointment. Why hide a real problem behind absolute bullshit headline figures?
The wait time is estimated based on how many people are in line compared to how quickly they're receiving service. It's like if no one is seeding your torrent then the ETA is infinity, but as more seeds come online, the ETA reduces.
That said, I don't know what the actual figures are that they used or where they got them from.
Sure. But I wouldn't write an article with a headline saying that my torrent was going to take 1000 years to download, because I'd look like an idiot.
The data comes from a series of 30 FOI requests and was published by QueerAF. I didn't post this though, as even with an archive link, you need to sign up with an email to read most of it https://www.wearequeeraf.com/gender-clinic-files-some-people-in-scotland-will-never-get-a-gender-clinic-appointment-on-a-224-year-waitlist/
