I think they reported that his deal was until the show in India, and I imagine it's a hefty payday too. A lot of other striking workers would probably enjoy making a little WWE money on the side, a great time to bring back the guest host era.
I was teenager just discovering my love of heels around that time. I don't remember that period too fondly. Just didn't have great energy and we got small tastes of other people before Cena won the belt back
