Taiwan rejects U.S. proposal for '50-50' chip production, says trade talks focused on tariffs

Taiwan People’s Party Chairman Huang Kuo-chang reportedly called Lutnick’s proposal an attempt to “hollow out the foundations of Taiwan’s technology sector.”

This is an opposition party that sides often with KMT for majority parliament control. DPP nazi (US colonial) party has presidential control, and essentially Lutnick's proposal is understood in complete political unanimity as "too colonial for everyone".

This is a bit like Taiwan's Canada moment, but like Canada, just likely to result in gaslighting of people while waiting to become 52nd state.
