Not sure what gave you the idea but i'm not an american (i'd almost add "thank god for that")
No we commonly have elections during Wars. We even had a presidential election during the Civil War which arguably had good reason to temporarily suspend elections during. Of course even in that war we had minimal incursions into American territory, that is non traitorous American territory, unlike Ukraine which is having its actual territory and infrastructure invaded and destroyed.
Yeah i was wondering where the U.S. would attack first but tbh Cheeto prepared this for some months now so it was obvious i guess.
