Stop worrying about low fertility, population cannot grow indefinitely on Earth (Letters)

The issue, and the reason why you hear people crying like the sky is falling, is that the entire economic system of the world (fractional reserve capitalism) requires endless growth. Once growth stops, bills start coming due and all that money that needs to be repaid doesn't exist. When populations decrease, so do markets. Bankers hate this one trick!

Yikes. The letter referenced in the headline makes reasonable points, but the other two seem to be about regulating social media, and it's not clear what that might look like and the other letter is encouraging people to carry guns at all times everywhere to avoid more shootings (and it's not The Onion). Talk about your maximalist 2A position, sheesh.
