Wow, this is all wrong from the start.
The author starts by saying that CSS is a programming language. It's a bug, not a feature. CSS is supposed to be for style, not for logic. The fact that it is turing complete is a side effect.
And let's assume for the sake of argument that it is ok that it's a programming language. Then what do we get? One of the ugliest syntaxes ever seen, to the point where if CSS came out now it would be considered alongside brainfuck in terms of languages. And for what? If we want a programming language, JavaScript already does that, why have two different languages for the same purpose?
No, the problem with the web is the stupidity of its components, its devs and its users. It is overly obsolete, overloaded and overly dirty. And that's why it's easy to make an eye catching title by saying "you no longer need Javascript", because everyone who knows a bit of how the web ecosystem is, wants to get rid of it.
She’s saying “you don’t need js for…” and then you could’ve read it. It’s pretty interesting.
