Flood the zone with shit is working great for the current US administration. What is anyone opposed to these sweeping changes to do?

Story time: First big family holiday dinner post-covid-vaccines (Thanksgiving, maybe?) one of the die-hard Republicans complained about covid being a hoax as anyone could tell by the whole loss-of-smell thing being so obviously crazy. Rather than argue with him, I asked the table, "Did anyone see that news piece about Yankee Candle getting flooded with returns because people couldn't smell their scents?"
What I'm trying to say is that other than the standards (voting, petitioning, attending, organizing), we can encourage people to rethink their positions without fighting about it. I'm not going to convince the die-hard that covid exists, but there's a bunch of less extreme folks at that table who ought to hear another side.
I might comment that its no wonder our tourism numbers are down when the military makes Capitol Hill look more like Pyongyang than Stockholm. Maybe sigh at the grocery store, and wonder if Trump wasn't supposed to fix inflation. There's a chance for offhand comment for most every situation.
