ELI5: How did the Soviets successfully sneakily obtaining a full copy of the Berlin wall before German soldiers broke in?

I've just been watching a few recent war reels of WW2, and I can't help but wonder how they managed to secretly acquire the full Berlin wall. Obviously it didn't require much effort, but if it was a major feat how did it manage to sneak through the German defenses undetected for so long?
