Anxiety about the economy forcing U.S. employers to yank budgets for raises

Aw, poor employers. Gettin' anxiety because they're "forced" to underpay their employees. Seems like that anxiety's been around a long time.

Is this shameless ignorance, or sponsored gaslighting? I'm assuming the latter from Fortune.
