They absolutely should, we would be much better off buying European made jets for a whole range of reasons.
Since we’re not part of the nuclear arms sharing arrangement with the US (as opposed to Germany for example) there is no reason to buy US tech and surrender part of our defense to US interests.
The Eurofighter Typhoon or Dassault Rafale would be the obvous alternatives, both are proven platforms with good track records and the supply chains would be closer to switserland's borders.
Agreed.
Also, I'd love it if we would track how much the loss in income from US tarifffs is and reduce Swiss spending on US technology by at least that amount. Let's spend that money at home, in Europe, and in other markets that partner with us instead.
