Looking for moderators for Sopuli's communities \ Etsitään moderaattoreita Sopulin yhteisöille

Hello Sopuli,

We have quite a few communities that have been abandoned / moderator has abandoned fediverse, so we are looking for moderators who would like to adopt some of these communities.

For the communities that we don't find any people to moderate we will add a sticky post with information on how to adopt these communities and hopefully redirect people to an active community that has a somewhat similar purpose/topic.

Meillä on melko paljon yhteisöjä, jotka on hylätty / moderaattori on lähtenyt fediversestä, joten etsimme moderaattoreita jotka haluaisivat ottaa joitakin näistä yhteisöistä hoitaakseen.

Yhteisöihin, joihin emme löydä moderaattoreita, laitamme pystyyn postauksen jossa selitetään miten kyseisen yhteisön voi ottaa hoitaakseen ja ohjaamme postauksessa käyttäjät samankaltaiseen, aktiivisempaan yhteisöön.

  • I crossposted this here incase there are any people here with similar communities to the dead / empty ones listed above who'd like a redirect to their active communities.

  • I am willing to moderate communites, especially if they are aligned with my interests. But seeing this long list overwhelmed me a bit, and also have observed some things. for example the programming related communities - it just has happened to be that almost all os/programming communities have either started on lemmy.ml, or migrated to programming.dev instance, which attracts the relevant crowd. So atleast for these communities, my initial suggestion would be to either consolidate with equivalent comms (by making a last post directing there and lockkinh the community) or just deleting if there is hardly anything. and more generally if there are other abandoned comms, similar should be done (if it is needed, I can collect all equivalent active communities)

    • You are right, most of those communities were created by a single user who disppeared shortly after.

      We mentioned in the post that community locking and redirection post is something we will do for communities that don't find s moderator and when there is a clear alternative (if no clear alternative we will point to a community that is closest topic-wise.

      Others also mentioned that some communities are just completely empty and could be just deleted, so we started deleting some of those!

      Thanks for offering moderation help, I'll ping you of some of our active communities that lack moderators if no one else steps up (unless you got some clear interests you'd like to moderate for sure - let me know).

      • I will try to make a spouli account shortly, and will leave some message in all comms of interest (and also will reply to this message so there is a direct place to read which one I am interested in.
