Critical Role Direct: Campaign 4 Announcement
Join us in a new world for a whole new story led by Game Master Brennan Lee Mulligan on Thursday, October 2nd.
Matthew Mercer will still be at the table, but this time as a player. We can't wait to share more with you in the coming weeks!
I'm very interested and hope they use Daggerheart. I know there's been a lot of mixed feelings on this announcement as a whole but I'm very curious to see what's in store.
Our group has been testing Daggerheart and it's got something for sure. I don't love it. I don't hate it. I do however want to see it used more because I think it's interesting.
Yeah, obviously Critical Role is going to be a kind of source of truth for it and how to run it, but I look forward to seeing how other groups run it.
You ain’t kidding about the stir in the community. I’m with you and happy to have Daggerheart take over for the system. 5e had its success in use over the pandemic and is as far as some people are willing to go learning gaming systems.
You can tell some of the more vocal opponents in the comments are from those who have memorized facts to gain satisfaction simply from correcting others and won’t have that in Daggerheart. Since the initiative system is freeform, the arguments change from those ordered operations that can be predicted to the unpredictable and “would’ve/could’ve/should’ve” theorizing sessions that more people can contribute to.
