Absolutely destroyed (RIP Bokchoy) 😭 we go again in late summer hopefully

Didn't have anything to cover it from pests. Apparently from what I've read, I can try to plant a new batch of Bokchoy from seedlings in late summer? Hopefully that works. I've also got some tatsois that I've been regularly checking for pests morning and night, no row cover, got some few holes but not as much as these. Is it necessary to check everyday for pests or any other day? Thank you for your help in advance

Too bad about the bok choy, but this aloe in the picture is looking grea.... GOOD LORD!

Try planting some strong-smelling herbs like cilantro or garlic near your bok choy next time - they can help repel the bugs that love to munch on brassicas and you wont need to check as obsessivley for pests.
- Don't have any cilantro atm but we do have nasturtiums if that could help the tatsois we have growing perhaps? Thank you.
Never hurts to spray some Dawn soap mixed with water every week or so. Depending on which pest had their day with it, maybe Monterey BT or Spinosad. Just apply those after dark so you don’t kill any of the good bugs too. But honestly getting some netting for greens is your best option since you’re not trying to attract pollinators.
- Yeah, I used soap water too, it sort of does the job. Been meaning to buy BT spray but I don't know how plausible that is until I saw your comment which makess me think I should get one, makes sense to use at night I'll be keeping that in mind, thank you. Will also definitely get some nets whilst I'm at it.
  
  The thing about a lot of organic pesticides is that they take days to kill the pests, and by then your plant is already mangled. So if you spray reactively instead of proactively you’ll be too late most of the time. Netting is the only sure bet for greens.
My wife tried to grow some too and the critters just love it apparently. They took the whole plant 😑
- Yeah it sucks truly, they only seemed to love bokchoy and tatsois, not so much with spinach that we've got planted also, hopefully the pests don't like those.
  
  We had way better luck with lettuce. Someday we'll get some bokchoy!
