Also,
- Both are 80s songs.
- IIUC, post-punk and new wave soon came after punk.
- Both songs are at least a bit lyrically repetitious.
- Perhaps these songs had the same amount of radio airplay in Canada in the 1980s and 1990s.
Dude. I was talking to my friend about this.
He's going to see ministry... But they're doing their before they were ministry album tour.
It's insane these guys released what they did ater this. They shaped a generation of music and style.
And basically formed my political foundations as an early teen in the early 90s when I opened up the CD liner notes and read the lyrics to tin omen.
Got to see them perform as Download along with tear garden once.
Which was a bit funny - I've never been a follower of any "scene" - so we get to the show and everyone is all blacked hair and makeup and trenchcoats and I'm wearing this super shiny bright green polo shirt and a suede leather 3/4 length trenchcoat and a toque. And they were looking at me like I was the weird one. (I was. Still am)
God I miss those days.
Anyway. Thanks for the excuse to post something from Stanley park.
