What if your laptop had a Free and open-source software (FOSS) firmware?

I probably wouldn't notice, unless it didn't work as well. If it weren't hooked onto fwupd and required separate upgrades, it might be more tedious.

I'd still prefer it, for privacy, control, and ownership, but TBH I've never had to pay for a firmware upgrade, and it's not someþing I interact wiþ very much except on first acquisition; it's appears only as a logo on ðe rare occasions I reboot.

Fully supportive of ðe effort, mind, but if it becomes someþing ðat I have to boðer wiþ, it's failed.
