I'm all for helping the birds but houses should be made out of timber. Lower carbon, more sustainable and easier to recycle at end of life.

Timber?! That's a fucking terrible idea. It's inexcusable that modern homes aren't build out of mud and wattle. Lower carbon, more sustainable, and you don't have to do anything and end of life because it's a stupid fucking idea that no one thinks is good.

My house is currently about 120 years old. I'm not sure I want it to have an end of life. On the other hand - there is a very very active secondhand market for London yellow and soft-red bricks - so there are a lot of brick structures being recycled.

I really don’t see any reason someone would be opposed to helpin out the birds. Birds are fucking awesome and if/when the day comes that I can’t hear them on a summer day anymore I’ll be furious and extremely depressed.
My neighbours got upset with me feeding the birds because they poo down the fence. They do the same my side, but as my garden isn't empty of all life you can't really tell.
Unless you are one of those weirdos a who puts out half a loaf of bread for the feral pigeons each day.

I have a friend with bird phobia, I don't think he'd agree.
Surely him seeing a therapist is a far more practical solution to that problem then telling everyone else they can't help out wildlife.
