Former US Senator Norm Coleman has raised eyebrows by declaring that “the masters of the universe are Jews” at a major Zionist lobby event in Jerusalem.
“And when you think about it, the Masters of the Universe are Jews! We’ve got Altman at OpenAI, we’ve got [Facebook founder Mark] Zuckerberg, we’ve got [Google founder] Sergey Brin, we’ve got a group across the board. Jan Koum, y’know, founded WhatsApp. It’s us.”
The remarks came as Coleman lamented that pro-Israel propagandists are “losing the digital war” in battle for the hearts and minds of younger generations, and called for more stringent censorship of pro-Palestinian speech. “A majority or Gen Z have an unfavorable impression of Israel. And, my friends, I think the reason for that is that we’re losing the digital war. They’re getting their information from TikTok, and… and we’re losing that war.”

Its kind of a contrived distinction if you actually go by genetic science. Yes, the levantine Ashkenazi tribe existed over just enough generations to have a traceable genetic ancestry, but they started as a levantine bedouin genetic profile and most have intermingled a lot during their diaspora. Modern humans have been around for 300,000 years and judaism for 1% of that time so there just is no "pure blood" to start with. Especially not 3000 years ago in that particular heavily contested region.
Many studies have shown that some populations called "non jewish" in the levantine have more of what jewish people would claim are jewish ethnicity genetic indicators than the current batch of those who call themselves ashkenazi jews have. The israelis basically want to deny that jewish people are middle eastern.
'80% of Ashkenazi men and 80% of Palestinian men share the same or very similar paternal ancestries.' They are largely the same people, genetically. Feel free to google that first sentence for yourself.
So 80% of Palestinian men would pass a genetic test and be accepted as jewish if they wanted to be. So is "jewish" an ethnicity, or is a culture/religion? If you ask a lot of jewish people what a jewish person looks like they will describe a European jewish person who is 60% ashkenazi jew by genetics, and 40% european, usually italian. White skin is what they actually want to see.

And this doesnt even go into the problem of the jewish diaspora that lived in Africa-- mainly Ethiopia. The current israeli government would love to just deny that they are jewish at all because of their skin color. They call them "beta israelites", and acknowledging their ancestry is hotly debated in Israel. When many ethiopian jews used their right to be considered jewish and immigrated to israel, they were then sterilized without their consent, by the Israeli state.
Unspeakably Evil. Immoral. and a racist genocide of their own genetic line. Thats where arguments of ethnicity in human populations inevitably end up. Ask a rabbi how bad violence against jews by jewish people is and you'll get an earfull. But ask them about allowing ethiopian jews into Israel and the "conservative" ones will get quiet.
