Wouldn't work if it's Reddit itself manipulating the results
I don't understand why it's still so taboo to say that opaque social network owner would manipulate their platform's results. They absolutely do it all the time because no one can know or stop them.

funny thing redd started to banning them recently. its an recent effort of them cleaning house of potential competing OF users, and bots.
They're all perm-banned for reporting mods for fuckery but I'm with you in spirit
