I would have expected them to simply expropriate the house from him. That wouldn't have surprised me for China. I mean, even here in Germany that's not exactly unheard of if you are in the way of a large project that benefits the society.
I never understand the kind of mental illness these people have to not sell their homes. Usually compensation is well over the property worth.
- Bullshit. I love my house. I've put an immeasurable amount of time, energy, and emotion into my property. Right now, it's worth about $500k. There is no amount of money that the government, or anyone else, could offer me that would make me sell. I'm not exaggerating. They could offer $500M on my $500k house, and I'll tell them to pound sand. A house isn't just an investment; in my case, I couldn't care less what it's worth. It's my home, and you'll never pry it away from me while I'm still breathing.

  Yall mf act like you live in medieval castles or 200 year old family estates instead of some 30 year old mass produced house that can be literally replicated anywhere in the planet. Get a grip on reality, seek out medication if necessary.
