@kde@floss.social@kde@lemmy.kde.social This blog post is about iPhone support but Microsoft has had this in Windows for a couple years now, especially in cooperation with Samsung. The Apple/Samsung #Sidecar feature in which you can use your computer keyboard to write on your phone or to drag & drop files is still not present in #KDEConnect (there is a input module in the plasmoid setting but I have never seen a button to actually use this; is this Wayland-only?).
The popup opens either when clicking on the tray icon or when hovering over it while dragging a file.
Keyboard to phone needs to be setup on the phone.
When you open the app at the bottom it lists plugins that need permission to work.
Follow the setup for "Receive remote keypresses" to add KDE Connect as an input method.
Whenever KDE Connect is active as a keyboard, an input box appears in the KDE Connect popup on the desktop for you to type in.
I'm pretty sure it's not wayland only. I can't see why it would be.
