I think I understand the rank one and rank two systems, but I'm not clear about what the 3rd represents on a Cartesian plane.
My mental model involves tying concepts to CAD design and assemblies. I am coming from FreeCAD where picking origins and designing everything on planes is critical.
The thing that I really don't understand about tensors yet is how the origins are derived and relate with different objects in 3d space. I want to assume R3 relates to the origin but I am not sure.
A well known example is the vector cross product, which is normal to the plane of the to vectors being multiplied. Does that make enough sense?
Are you guys fucking with me?
I can't decide if this is an extremely specialized question in a general question space, or an invitation to write nonsense just to confuse random passersby like myself.
Or perhaps, maybe both? Either way. Great job and keep up the good work!
It is an ok question but probably better to ask in a math forum. !math!math@lemmy.world maybe.
