SNW Season 1 First Episode. Where have I seen this before?

I've watched a lot of ST over my life and I swear this whole first contact but it's actually a warp bomb, DNA altering disguises.. Thing has been done in some previous ST series or movie but I have terrible memory? Or am I just crazy?

I had the same deja vu reaction to it! Felt a lot like an Enterprise episode somehow.
Many, many, many years ago, there was a novel that had a Warp bomb (or the supposed impossibility of one) as a premise. It was set pre-First Contact and rotated around Zefram Cochrane being forced by IIRC Colonel Green to try and develop one.
