Amazon India: employees made to pledge not to take water or bathroom breaks in 50°C temperatures

At this point, are they just culling the herd or something? I mean, it's crass to phrase it that way sure, but how is it not some kind of a humanitarian violation? It's shameful that they can be allowed to do such a thing and not have any repercussions. There's supposed to be laws against this type of behavior.
