Linux Boomers

I’m going to start this article off by saying that you don’t have to be born in the boomer generation to be a boomer. You can be a boomer by acting like one. Hate new stuff? boomer. Run a desktop from the naughties? Boomer.

  • Also here are the two rules quoted by lemmy.ml's linux group:

    1. Posts must be relevant to operating systems running the Linux kernel. GNU/Linux or otherwise.
    2. No misinformation

Regarding #1, Techrights does have to do with Linux. It is a Linux promoting website. I understood why it might fit this rule so I posted it. The admins didn't agree, so I posted it somewhere else. I thought a shitposting group might fit but people said it wasn't a shitpost. I wasn't spamming it, I was trying to find a group where it seemed to fit and the admins didn't agree.

Regarding #2, it's not misinformation at all. All the facts were backed up with screenshots and actual log files. I had a lot of people saying it was fake news because they didn't want to believe actual facts that were logged on Techrights irc server.

Linux @ lemmy.ml didn't have to ban me, I did get the automod message saying the post was removed but they never sent me one saying I was banned so I had no idea I was banned or was "ban evading."

Lemmy.world didn't have to ban me. They could have given me a warning or a suspension. The Terms of Service for Lemmy.World indicated such. I figure Lemmy.world is just run by people who were mad because of the article and maybe they're pro techrights.

Not everyone has to agree to an article and not every post has to be something everyone agrees with. Contrary opinions should be welcome, and the fact that upvoting and downvoting exist should be used instead of reporting something you don't like to get it off the internet.
