Android? Which launcher? Depending on the launcher, you can change icons to image of your choice
- iOS, there's a hacky way of doing it with Siri Shortcuts that I completely forgot and I can't find it since r/Shortcuts was made private lol.

  I’m pretty sure that doesn’t work for web apps though, since they’re not actual apps the "open app" shortcut doesn’t work. You can use "open url", but that opens it in the browser.
  
  I don’t know if there can even be such a thing as different icons for web apps on iOS.
  
  Some time ago you could actually change the icon to whatever you wanted, but that’s no longer possible afaik.

  As of now, there is no way for pwas to rebrand themselves on IOS. The only way is to reinstall - and lose local data.

  You just remove and add to home again? This is for when the app developer changes the icon or name. In that case the only way to get the updated branding is to reinstall.

  How dare you not to use android? Open source or nothing.... just kidding^^ so the only alternative is an app i guess? at least a few are pretty nice and coming to ios too. I hope you guys get what you want^^
  
  I've tried them all, but only WefWef sat well with me. Since the whole revolution came about because of the Apollo app, and WefWef is its successor UI and everything. WefWef, or whatever name they go with, will be my eternal home. Matter fact, to me, Reddit was Apollo, and Apollo was Reddit; similarly, WefWef is the only way I'll be using Lemmy.
