I used to work at whole foods and we had to do training on the meaning of the organic label. In a survey 94% of responders listed the reason they prefer organic was no pesticides. However organic produce is still sprayed with pesticides

Pesticides are used in Europe, sure. But to be able to market a product as organic there are actually pretty extensive regulations

Copper sulfate is a natural pesticide. It's allowed in organic farming.
It's also more toxic than most artificial pesticides at its effective concentration. Make sure you rinse your organic produce thoroughly.
