Whats the best tech and software turning a dell tower into a DVR?

i know capture cards exist but know nothing about whats best in 2023 its been a long long time

  • I have an old Hauppauge dongle recording OTA hdtv with NextPVR. I use Jellyfin to run the library and Kodi as a frontend on Tv, tablet and phone.

    • ok so those chinese cards worked for you good those are so cheap now (probably same production batch)

      what software does the Huappauge is it fast to launch? oh i see you answered that

      so seperate program to record but is this ALL legacy software?
