Remember when people wanted a free and open internet?
Just lamenting the fact that there are so many people on here pushing for stricter moderation. There are plenty of ways to moderate a page if you are the creator. If you aren't the creator then you can block or down vote images so you don't have to see them, or, gods forbid, find a different generator that suits you. Then there's always the option of creating your own like I did. The bigger the audience, the more problems you will have. The bigger the chat, the more trolls. You have choices that you can make for yourself, instead of trying to make choices for everybody else. Sorry if this offends but it's a simple truth. Nobody is forcing you to use this free, never limited, unrestricted service. Common sense moderation is fine, but everybody has different ideas of what is acceptable. (And before anybody accuses me of being for abusive language or imagery...I hate both, but I respect individual freedom, with reasonable limits.)
I now return you to your regularly scheduled programming. Sorry for the interruption. Also thanks @perchance@lemmy.world for this awesome service.
Maybe my coding skill didn't exist so I frequently request new moderation features as a moderator/gen owner.
I didn't request those being applied universally but as possible options.
Sorry if I offended you friend. I actually do agree with you. It's the perchance-wide ban hammer comments that I have a problem with. As a mod/gen owner it is absolutely reasonable to ask for tools that you can use to moderate your gen. Now please don't growl at me again. ๐
Giving power to mods I agree with. That way they can set the culture of their page. However a lot of what I read seems to be people wanting blanket bans for certain behaviors or certain types of speech. Beyond what is legal or illegal, what people are banned for should be a matter for the person who runs that page to decide or for the developer if they so decide.
