The leaders of two conservative Canadian provinces are calling Ottawa to eliminate the oil and gas emissions cap, allow oil tankers on the West Coast, and end the designation of plastics as toxic
Danielle Smith is the leader of Alberta. Scott Moe is the leader of Saskatchewan.
Considered hostile to public transit, favorable to firearms and critical of vaccination they are the most powerful conservative politicians in Canada.
In a joint statement, both are urging the Canadian Government to get rid of environmental rules in order to increase the economy. These are their core demands:
Repealing/Overhauling Environmental Impact Assessment when it comes to natural ressources projects (mining, fracking, etc..)
Eliminating the oil and gas emissions cap
Getting rid of clean electricity regulations
Lifting the oil tanker ban off the west coast
Stopping rules preventing the free speech of corporations ("greenwashing")
