Kampfradler. I read War-Roader -> Roadwarrior but Google translate says Combat Cyclists... So... Battlerider? Sweet👌
Is it that battleriders are taking the streets away from drivers? and that since only drivers carry the taxburden then battleriders don't deserve their own rideways?
They are a boomer because their "cure" (give them no roads!) just feeds the "disease" (they took muh roads!)?
This looked way way easier to decode when I first scrolled past it 😂
Combat cyclist would be an appropriate translation. It is a stupid term invented by those opposed to better cycling infrastructure to refer to supposedly aggressive and reckless cyclists.
Kampfradler is a term for a specific brand of cyclist, who is pretty much the bicycle equivalent of the stereotypical Audi/Mercedes/BMW driver of the car world with an added victim complex.
They are narcissistic arseholes who shit on the rules of the road, (particularly traffic lights and right of way) because the rules inconvenience them, and therefore are quite obviously stupid. Having to share public infrastructure with others is impossible for them.
Can't share with cars, obviously, because they are murder machines driven by evil "carbrains" who are only out to kill cyclists
Can't share with pedestrians, because they will always get in their way
Can't even share with other cyclists, because they might go slower or in the opposite direction, and generally get in their way.
Whenever there is an accident involving a bicycle and any other means of transportation, they will frame it as a deliberate attempt at murdering the cyclist.
They will never stop to demand bicycle infrastructure, even in places where it's unnecessary, or even ridiculous, (who needs a dedicated two way bicycle lane in a residential street with barely any traffic?) but when and wherever infrastructure exists, they will refuse to use it, despite it's routinely and gladly being used by pretty much every other cyclist, because, for some reason they will make up on the spot, it is inadequate for them.
