[META] Suggestion: Reduce the size of the community's image

Hi! You may not be aware of this but Lemmy doesn't downscale images for you, you have to do it yourself. Right now, everyone who visits this community is downloading a 3.5MB 4K photo. This goes for photos you post, too, so mobile users with limited data might not be particularly happy with you.

I'm not from Manchester but I'm not a million miles away, happy to chip in when I can. :)

  • Hey! Good point, thanks! To be honest I don't really like the picture and was on my phone when I realised it didn't have one so just uploaded a relevant photo without thinking about the implication! I've scaled it down now.
