Hey starting up a deGoogling Community here on Lemmy simular to you know that other site... I'll update the sidebar with alternatives and we can go from there.

I recommend Ecosia over DuckDuckGo. DDG is American and uses bing whereas Ecosia is European and although it uses bing, they are developing an independent indexer.
I've added Ecosia to the side panel. Thanks for the suggestion.
