I'd love to make a kbin mobile app. Is the REST API ready?

I've been poking around the API docs here: https://docs.kbin.pub/#introduction

But I don't seem able to get the requests to work when pointing at kbin.social. Is the API not ready? Or maybe disabled due to load?

Any guidance on this would be great.

  • ernest currently disabled the API to focus on the website. He will probably re-enable it later down when he finalizes the website.

    • Makes sense, thank you for the quick answer.

      • Maybe talk to him - so you can start in the background.

        Would love to see some apps for kbin/lemmy.

        Do you plan for wider support of the fedivers?

        • If it's a matter of being disabled, I can always just run a local instance in docker with it enabled to get me going, so I should be good.

          I'll see what I can do!
