This is a feature I miss from Reddit/apps that would be useful as the fediverse grows!
I see it's at least possible to search within communities and/or by creator through lemmy on the web, but it's a little awkward with the steps needed: navigate to search, choose search type and sort preference, search for specific community/person, enter search term. (It's also lacking in clarity as the community/creator fields get wiped after I've made my selections.)
If there were a redundant, faster way to search for posts or comments within the community directly from the community view, that would be even better than what exists now. Regardless, any implementation would be helpful!
I was thinking of asking a specific question, but I thought I should see if anyone has asked it before me. Turns out, I can’t narrow down my search that way, so I guess I’ll just make a post and hope I’m the first person ever to think of this….
Nah, I’ll just ask here instead: Is community grouping like making a multireddit? I would really like to bundle all the tech communities into one feed, all the coffee communities into another and so on. I’ve joined so many communities that I need to start organizing this mess. I would really need one for AI stuff, one for news, one for apple stuff, another for linux stuff, biology, chemistry and so on. Even “Data is beautiful” would be a group of communities from a bunch of different instances. Theres just so much grouping I need to do.
Fantastic! I’m so close to buying the lifetime subscription. Just discovered this app today and have been going through my feature checklist. So far so good. I hope the discount will be around for a while longer.
So many apps are good in long list of features, but there’s always one or two deal breakers. It’s rare to find an app that excels in all the areas I have in my list of crucial and nice to have features. You’re doing a really good job with this app!
