They were probably counting EVERY death to the Communist leaders, which is dishonest as a lot of them, at least 99% of them simply died from natural causes i.e old age. If everyone was counted like how Communist leaders were counted in the death count, then everyone would have blood on their hands.
- If we're supposed to believe Holodomor was a genocide, then so was Manifest Destiny, the Dust Bowl, and Johnson's take-backsies of Special Field Order 15; whose effects are still felt today.
  
  I don't know about the other two, but Manifest Destiny certainly did involve genocide, unlike the famines in the USSR
