The regular swimming events will be done in a pool. The issues are the weird ones:
the open-water marathon (10 km) swimming event, which can't be done in a pool by definition of "open-water," and
the triathlon, which would require a pool big enough to handle a mass start of 55 competitors all at once, with space next to it for the swim-bike transition zone.
