Why did the tracked Lemmy user count plummet to pre-blackout lows?

It seems to me this is probably a statistical error, Lemmy seems to be alive and well with lots of content flowing in, but the stat counter is showing a massive drop following the huge surge the past 2 days. What am I missing?
