Ooof. I ended up digging into the article. So this clown passes a law requiring photo IDs to vote, neglects to add military veteran ID cards to the approved list, then forgets his own ID when going to cast his own ballot? Seems dumb.
Seems like average Boris stuff, unfortunately. Particularly unfortunate since he was Prime Minister for a while.
Unfortunately the clowns running my country do the same stupid stuff at such a rate that I can’t pay attention to other country’s politics as much as I’d like.
I knew he was PM and disliked but I didn’t know about the voting act. Crazy stuff.
At the time people (probably his supporters) would say the stupidity was an act to make him more relatable. I'm not so sure.
On the contrary, stupidity is very relatable to his supporters..
in order to get his extreme version of Brexit through parliament, he purged everyone in his party who didn’t bend the knee. as a result quite a bit of stupid legislation was passed that made for good tabloid headlines but ultimately is piss poor quality because all the real politicians with experience were kicked out.
The military ID cards came out after the law. The problem was they were in the works before the law passed, so an amendment should have been planned.
