Bei uns wurde den Studenten verboten, das eduroam zu benutzen, weil es sonst unbrauchbar langsam wird. Stattdessen sollten wir das gedrosselte interne Netz verwenden, was aber grundsätzlich nicht funktioniert hat.
Also hat jeder eduroam genutzt, eduroam wurde unbrauchbar und dann haben diejenigen mit anständigen Mobilfunkverträgen eben Internet gehabt und der Rest nicht.
Dann hatten die eher keinen Bock das zu tracken, bzw. haben einfach nicht geloggt.. Kapazitäten kostet so ein logserver jetzt nicht wirklich (den sollte man kn der Regel eh haben).
Wenn jede Verbindung jedes Geräts mit jeweils auch noch Nutzer Id für mehrere Monate gespeichert werden soll, musst du bei mehreren zehntausend Geräten schon einiges an Kapazitäten hinstellen.
Klar, du brauchst keine Netflix Infrastruktur, aber wir reden hier von einer Uni. Das sind Kosten, die für die Uni absolut keinen Vorteil bringen.
Ich weiß, zufällig arbeite ich an einer großen in der Netzwerktechnik.
Monitoring bringt auch für ne Uni was, so stark unterscheiden sich da die Bedürfnisse der IT nicht von nem großen Unternehmen.
Und Monate lang muss das auch nicht sein, teilweise kamen die Anfragen innerhalb von 24h
Die Frage ist doch nicht "ist es möglich", sondern "ist es nötig". Allein die Zeit die du für die Recherche brauchst ist doch absolute Verschwendung. Einfach Formbrief "Keine Ahnung" zurück und fertig ist die Kiste.
Man loggt ja auch nicht primär, um Auskunftsersuche von der Polizei oder Anwälten beantworten zu können, sondern um im Zweifelsfall Fehler lokalisieren, oder Missbrauch des Netzwerks analysieren zu können.
