For a friend and I, Proxmox (and Proxmox Backups Server) is definitely that "Wow, and to think this is open source!" project.
Huge +1 for Proxmox. Unbelievable what you get with it, especially compared to the insane cost of VMware. A vSphere license is WILDLY expensive
