That said the US government collects 5 trillion dollars a year in taxes. 15 billion is nothing. The issue is where we are spending that money, not what we are collecting.
Still doesn't negate the fact that we have tons of money but we are spending it wrong. Anyone making a budget knows it's not about cash flow in. It's about spending habits and cash flow out. Say we up the rates, make a ton of people pay more who can clearly afford it. That's just going to go to the same places it's going now and clearly not helping those in need. We already have enough money. 20% of the budget is social programs but the social programs we built are flawed and shit. The issue isn't the budget. It's the social programs that get under utilized because they are designed that way.
