East Asian cuisine doesn't use sugar. The secret to Chinese cooking is lard, soy sauce, and high heat.
5 0 Replyuhhh maybe they didn't in the past but they definitely do these days, you get sauce sticky with sugar and starch slurry.
8 0 Replythat's an american restaurant thing, not a chinese thing. indian food places do it too, they add a fuckton of sugar so it will taste good to the american palate since we're accustomed to having ungodly amounts of sugar in everything.
