Had to look up the acronym. Somehow, MCR sounded a lot like either MBV or DMB to me, both of which seemed an ill fit for an angsty middle-schooler though.
She clearly means mid 1800s Russian composers "Mussorgsky, Cui and Rimsky-Korsakov".
