Fish and chips. Victor Harbor, South Australia

I ate this meal at the end of 5 days of bushwalking AKA backpacking.
The chips and “butter fish” are accompanied by a wedge of lemon, some tartare sauce and a sprinkling of chicken salt. Also a deep fried dim sim, a calamari ring, and a battered scallop.
Including a drink (ginger beer?), it cost AUD$16.80.

that looks crazy good, especially after 5 days of backpacking.
were you backpacking in rural areas around your home or did you go a national park or something?
I used to backpack a lot, but never got around to it while I was in Australia.

I really enjoy backpacking and walking and I'm interested in seeing the Australian outback through the eyes of a walker.
actually, I think the second to the last podcast I put out was about walking specifically as a wonderful mode of travel.
thanks for the recommendation.

You're on the Heysen Trail? I'm so jealous.
2 0 ReplyI could only do that section, unfortunately. It’s definitely on the list to go north and walk the Flinders Ranges part, though.
