Hear me out. Next Gen "reboot" ala Strange new worlds where Affleck is an older Riker nearing the end of his command of the Titan.
You know what. I think Star Trek may be what he needs in life. The community and fambase coupled with a supporting cast he could have an extremely quiet and happy career.
